If you are interested in the possibility of giving a permanent loving home to one of our Siberian Huskies, you should first complete a Rehome Application Form (download as Word document HERE) and email or post it to us - e-mail as an attachment to: rehome@shwa.org.uk You
will then be contacted by our local SHWA(UK) co-ordinator who will arrange to
visit you and ensure that your house and garden is suitable for a Siberian Husky
(they are serious escape artists). As a result of the home-check, suggestions
might be made as to security/suitability of your house/garden. A reference will
also be sought from your family vet. If
the home-check/vet references are suitable, then you will be placed on the
Rehome Register and will be considered when dogs become available for rehoming.
We will make every effort to match dogs to people and to ensure that the dogs
find the permanent, forever home that they deserve! All
dogs rehomed by SHWA( An adoption fee of £150 is recommended for each dog, although in the circumstances described above, or in other very special circumstances, this fee may be reduced or waived at the discretion of our local co-ordinator subject to the agreement of the National Rehome Co-ordinator. In the case of baby puppies, the recommended adoption fee is £200. Where the new owner wishes to work the dog, a SHWA(UK) Welfare number will be issued and it is hoped that , in time, we will be able to negotiate with some of the racing organizations so that they an recognize our welfare numbers and allow dogs to compete. Where a dog is KC registered, the appropriate details will be forwarded to the new owner and they will be able to compete in any case. |
